Olu of Warri: Itsekiri unveil one week coronation anniversary

A one-week programme has been unveiled in Warri, Delta state to celebrate the 3rd coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.

According to the programme of activities made available to the Vanguard by Chief Solomon Arenyeka, the Eson of Warri kingdom and Chairman Publicity/Media committee, the event will commence with a praise and worship session on Monday at the palace. This will be followed on Tuesday with homage paying ceremonies /anniversary lectures at the palace from12 noon.

” Wednesday 21st August anniversary/homage paying at the palace. Thursday, August 22 homage paying at Ode Itsekiri and presentation of a drama/play. Friday Novelty match by Olori ladies at Ode Itsekiri and homage paying.

” Saturday award to distinguished Itsekiri at the palace and presentation of music and poetry concert for His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III. Sunday Thanksgiving service at the palace “.

It will be recalled that the revered monarch assumed the throne of his forebears at a colourful coronation ceremony at Ode Itsekiri, the ancestral home of Itsekiri nation in Warri south local government area precisely on August 21st three years ago.

Already preparations for the coronation anniversary have reached heights across Itsekiri communities in Warri kingdom and the entire state.

Various social media platforms ,Facebook, X, Tiktok and so on have been flooded with messages from Itsekiri groups announcing the coming anniversary celebration .
